GreenKode co-founder James Tang is using Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build his web solution

Greenkode is very excited to be joining other Startups like Airbnb, Netflix, Slack, and Spotify to run their infrastructure in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud.
In restaurants, the food waste costs will go up with the profit if the restaurant grows too fast without managing their waste effectively. They might need more bins, to hire more staff, order more food, or open more sites. All this will add up to the costs of food waste. Applications running on AWS can be scaled automatically to support businesses as they grow and provide them with a reliable service.
James says “There are three main things we are looking for when choosing a cloud service provider: speed, security, and scalability.
• Speed – because we want our customers to have an exceptional user experience on our app. We understand chefs have a hectic work schedule, so we want to make critical information easily accessible to them.
• Security – because we implement our data protection policy very strictly. It’s our number one priority to protect our customers’ personal information and their company.
• Scalability – because we want to provide a reliable service to our customers. No matter how many bins you have, we can measure food waste and provide you with valuable information daily.“
James is using AWS serverless architecture to build and run his web solution. Serverless architecture is a way to develop and run applications and services without having to manage complicated web infrastructure.

He is able to focus more time working on the application, so then customers can receive new features quicker than before.
AWS has one of the most secure global infrastructures. All data flowing across the AWS global network that interconnects their data centres and regions is automatically encrypted at the physical layer before it leaves their secured facilities.

Greenkode can create great experiences customised to the user’s specific needs. They are planning to add two primary users to the app: the admin user could be the owner or director of the restaurant, and the regular user could be the head chef. The users will only see the information relevant to their job and can input their data to see trends. James can shift his focus on adding this feature without having to handle all the security tasks.
Greenkode can help its partners to grow their businesses without them worrying about their food waste costs. In restaurants, the food waste costs will go up with the profit if the restaurant grows too fast without managing their wastes effectively. They might have more bins, hire more staff, order more food, or open more sites. All this will add up to the costs of food waste.
